Birdman and Trishula gets RANTED

So Trishula and Birdman is in TCG's Hidden Arsenal 4. Hmm...

If I see a video about the Birdman of Doom deck running around in the TCG, let me be the first person to say...DON'T MAKE THE DAMN DECK.

If you don't want Birdman, Doom and Gallis to be semi'd, limited or even baned, DON'T MAKE THE DECK. Don't get me wrong, I like Birdman and I can easily access it with Hidden Arsenal and don't have to go to Singapore and spend like $50 on a card. The effect ain't bad, but abusing it is so wrong that if people started playing it, it CAN be a candidate for the September ban list. (I'm just saying)

Side note, even if one of the 3 key cards gets semi'd/limited/baned, i won't blame Dueling Days though.

Next up, Trishula (now legal in the TCG because of Hidden Arsenal 4) is now playable in the TCG, which is ok I guess. Western Duelists anticipated it's release and now they got it. Problem is...it ain't easy pulling one, lpokemOnl made a video regarding this. Apparently, pulling 1 trishula is hard, he stated in the video that, there's a chance that the box you buy won't have a Trishula in it which is sad. So yeah, but if you do get it and pulled at least 1, it's worth it though.

Guess 'Mist Wurm' won't loved anymore now trishula is in town...

I think that's about wraps it up for today's post (night if you're in Brunei) I do apoligize the lack of posting since we (Hakim and I) have lives of our own.

Oh yeah, almost forgot, check out the stuff I mentioned. This is L.Z signing out!

THAT CARD! - Penguin Soldier

PENGUIN SOLDIER
[5DS2-EN009]

FLIP: You can return up to 2 Monster Cards from the field to the owner's hand

Wow...you must be going "Why the hell is he reviewing this card?"...well this card was used in a deck by Angel Flores, who won the YCS Anaheim with his Strange yet strong Hero beat deck. Then they look at his decklist with weird tech cards n here's the weirdest one out of the lot....a freakin penguin soldier!!!!!!!!!...in a nutshell, this card is a Hane-Hane on steroids...bounces back 2 monster cards from the field to the owner's hands...so synchros and swarming decks beware!!!!!

Now...why should you put it in your deck...well as i said, it is a weird tech card at first sight...but then when you think of more...it kinda makes it not a bad card at all....at least for this format with swarming decks like X-sabers, Gravekeepers (in a way), Six Sams, Blackwings and what not...it just feels great to bounce back your opponent's monsters to make room for a direct attack which may eventually win your games....Synchro's also have no chance n would only get bounced back to the extra deck unless they bounce back this card that is....erm Brionac....aside from that it's unlimited n won't change hopefully so you can annoy the f**k out of your opponent with this card.....hell yea!!!!

Why you shouldn't run this?...well, if you were better off without this card then youcan continue playing as you were.....but it wouldn't hurt siding this card....how to overcome this card...well, cards like nobleman of crossout can just destroy this with ease....cards which destroy defense position monsters can also do the same....there are also countless card that can destroy this.....however the opponent would rarely know that you've set a penguin soldier until it's finally flipped or destroyed.....

Ratings:-

Playability - 4/5 - Well you could play it in any deck however it may take up some space for other cards...better just sided to counter specific decks which focus on swarming.....
Art - 3.5/5 -It's a freaking penguin for a soldier...how's tht not cute?!...though the effect doesn't really look like it's well fitted for this cute penguin~
Fun Trivia - Angel Flores flip summoned Penguin Soldier to bounce away both of Weigle's monsters! Stratos attacked for game! Angel Flores captures his second Championship win, clinching his victory with Penguin Soldier- To win a championship with Penguin Soldier...now that's boss!~

Total Rating - 4/5
Not a bad tech card...without question imma try to experiment with it in my decks...and so will other duelist eventually?.....Final last words.....Random Tech Cards FTW!

Hero/Light Gemini Beat wins YCS Anaheim?!

YCS Anaheim Champion, Angel Flores used a Light/Gemini Beatdown deck (as written on the decklist of winners) followed by Jonathan Weigle, who came second, used a Gravekeeper deck and then Majid Khan, who ran Chaos then came X-sabers played by Billy Brake. Top 4 decks seems great to top such a wonderful event which marks the rise of the current meta decks for this format! to see the top 32 decklsits for YCS click here!

Aite now to the quick deck analysis of the top 4 decks, then the analysis of the champion's deck last (save the best for last?)...aite, what i can say is tht all 4 decks include at least 1 Pot of Duality! which shows how useful pot can be. All the 4 decks ran 2 Solemn Warnings which is self explanatory, then of course the staples. Other than that all respective decks used cards which fit their archetypes, excluding a few tech like Effect Veiler, Gorz, Super-Nimble for monsters, Spells were also the usual plus the important staples then the trap line...7 tools of the bandit found found some use in 3 of the 4 decks then the staples again...mirror, solemn judgement n etc......

Now to the champion's Decklist!

Monster analysis

As you can see, he runs the usual hero beat cards like Neos Alius, Thunder King, Stratos, Honest, D.D. Warrior Lady?...then BOOM! tech cards come in~ Duradark was included probably to destroy those annoying dark monsters...Dark Armed? GK (insert of GK name here)? Gorz? Gale?...NICE!...then came Fossil Dyna, bye-bye to special summoning which stops most decks, let's see Gk special summons, chaos special summons, and X-sabers special summons...WIN!..Grand Mole..yeah, to bounce em Synchros n annoying monsters back to extra deck n hand respectively....Kinetic Soldier, saved for warriors ( Six Sams, X-sabers) and the most epic card as a tech......Penguin Soldier!?...haha...first look...."that belongs in a starter deck!"...read effect.."Dude, that can stop swarming decks".....EPIC WIN!..best tech for this format anyone?...hahaha....FACT!

Spell analysis

3 Pot of Duality to search his 16 monsters which is kinda low for a monster count in a deck, but with Pot, no problemO.....Forbidden Chalice at 2 just to power up his monster's ATK by 400 but effects negated until end phase....2 MSTs just to destroy backrow...Gemini Sparks to target 1 card on the field by tributing Neos Alius then draw a card...Nobleman just to destroy those annoying set cards, Spirit Reaper, Pashuul and remove from play flip effect cards mainly GK spy and Guard. Monster Reborn....staple!...ROTA to call his warriors. Dark Hole..again staple...E-call, traget Alius and Stratos...Miracle and super Poly....for fusions~

Trap analysis

Bottomless Trap, Solemn Warning, Dimensional Prison, Torrential Tribute, Solemn Judgment....standard traps...staples for me....just my 2 cents....Seven Tools of the Bandit...Hero Blast, just destroy monster below 1900 by reviving alius...then Seven Tools of the Bandit just to negate traps....Royal Oppression, Mind Crush, Summon Limit n Pulling the Rug....self explanatory....
